Ashley Huffman, of New Castle, announces her candidacy for Henry County Township Trustee in the 2022 local election. Huffman is a lifetime resident of New Castle and currently serves as a member and past President of the Henry County Township Trustee board, where she has been an elected member for eight years.
“I love my hometown and am committed to this community and helping New Castle and the township have a secure position for the future. Trustees are the back-up help for local citizens and important services that make our community safe and successful,” said Huffman.
Huffman is a 1992 New Castle High School graduate and holds a B.S. degree in business from Indiana University East. She was the Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Henry County (now known as Believe and Achieve Mentoring BAM) for 11 years before becoming a licensed real estate broker ERA Integrity Real Estate. While serving at BBBS and BAM, Huffman often quoted Magic Johnson, “All kids need is a little help, a little hope, and someone who believes in them.” She said, “that mantra can work for the community as a whole.”
